GoZ and Pre-Transform Morphs
When creating morphs in ZBrush, the following steps are commonly used to create a full body morph:
- Load the character that your clothing is created for.
- Zero the figure’s pose, and dial in the full body morph that you want to match in the clothing.
- Export the character to ZBrush, using the Figure > Export Figure Mesh to GoZ command. To ensure that the morphed figure is passed to ZBrush, make sure that the Export Posed option is checked.
Check Export Posed to export a morphed character to ZBrush.
- After the figure is loaded into ZBrush, return to Poser and select the clothing that you want to morph. When exporting the clothing, you want to export it in its default state, so you want to export it with the Export Posed option unchecked.
Uncheck Export Posed to export clothing in its default state.
- In ZBrush, use the Append feature to merge the character and the clothing in ZBrush, as described in Morphing Multiple Items.
- After you finish your clothing morph, press the GoZ button to return the morphed clothing back to Poser. Poser prompts you to assign a name for the morph.
- When you create morphs in this manner in ZBrush, you will notice that the Apply new morphs pre-Transform option is disabled. This is because morphs created in ZBrush are automatically applied pre-Transform. This causes Poser to morph the clothing to the body shape before it calculates the changes to the clothing that will be necessary to rotate the joints when it is posed.
